Stored and watched video minutes
How Facet counts uploaded video: stored minutes for your library, watched minutes for your audience each month, and why a reading can say not yet measured.
Uploaded video is counted two ways: stored minutes are the length of your video library, and watched minutes are how long your audience plays it each month.
One 30-minute lesson watched once by 100 learners uses 30 stored minutes and 3,000 watched minutes. Rewatching adds watched minutes but no stored minutes.
- Studio stores up to 600 minutes (10 hours) and includes 5,000 watched minutes a month.
- Creator stores up to 3,000 minutes (50 hours) and includes 15,000 watched minutes a month.
- Portfolio doesn't include uploaded video. YouTube and Vimeo embeds never count on any plan.
Stored minutes are a capacity, not a monthly allowance: they free up only when you delete a video and its cleanup finishes. Watched minutes reset at the start of each calendar month (UTC).
To check your numbers:
- Open a course, go to the Outline tab and open a lesson.
- Under Video source, choose Upload. You'll see stored minutes used and Watching this month.
- For the monthly total and what happens at the limit, open Billing and find When you reach your included minutes.
If this didn't work
- It says "not yet confirmed" or shows zero: watching is measured once a day, not live. Not yet measured is not a confirmed zero bill.
- It says the reading is delayed or some watching couldn't be measured: that's a measurement gap on our side, not a payment problem. Don't re-upload videos or change passwords. If it lasts more than a day, send us the lesson link and roughly when it happened.
Uploads still processing, or waiting to be deleted, can hold stored minutes for a while. Deleting a video doesn't undo watching that already happened.
