Trust
What protects you when you build on Facet.
Facet is run by two people. If you are deciding whether to put your income on it, here is what keeps your business safe, in plain words, with a link to where each promise is written down.
Your members are yours
Members pay you through your own Stripe account, not through ours.
Your Stripe account, your customers
You connect a Stripe account you own. Every sale and member subscription is created on that account, so you are the seller and the customer records sit in your Stripe.
We never hold your money
There is no Facet balance and no withdrawal to wait for. If you leave, your Stripe account and its customer records stay with you.
Members aren't charged for a site that isn't there
Whenever your site is offline, Facet pauses the member subscriptions it set up on your Stripe account and emails each member. When your site comes back, their billing resumes.
Leave any time, and take everything
Leaving is a few clicks in your dashboard, never a negotiation.
Cancel in the app
In Settings, then Billing, choose Cancel my account. You don't need to email or call anyone, and that includes trials. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for and is not billed again.
Download everything
In Settings, then Security, Export Your Data prepares one ZIP of your site: a copy of its database, your members and subscribers as spreadsheets, your content, the files you uploaded, your Facet invoices, links to download your course videos that work for 7 days, and a guide to moving elsewhere. Prepare it while your plan is active, including after you cancel.
After your last paid day
Your site goes offline and stops being published. We keep its content, files and audience records so you can come back. To delete everything for good, email privacy@get-facet.com from your account email and it is done within 30 days.
If Facet ever closes
We will email you at least 90 days before the last day and keep your site running until then. You can export for 30 days after it, and we refund any prepaid time beyond it.
Why we ask for a card, and what happens at trial end
The card is asked for up front. Nothing is charged until the trial ends.
Why a card
We add server capacity slowly and on purpose. Asking for a card keeps sign-ups to people who plan to build a site, so every new site has room to run well.
Your card goes to Stripe
The card form is Stripe's own checkout page. We never see or store your full card number.
When the first charge happens
Stripe's checkout shows the date of your first charge before you subscribe, and your confirmation email repeats the date and the amount. You are charged on that date unless you cancel first.
Cancelling during the trial
Cancel in the app before the trial ends and you are never charged. After your first payment you still have 14 days to ask for a full refund.
Who you are trusting
A small, named business, not an anonymous app.
Jed and Hannah
Facet is built and run by Jed and Hannah, a husband and wife team. Facet Cloud is the trading name of Jedidiah Esposito, a New Zealand sole trader (NZBN 9429053442918).
A person reads every message
Jed or Hannah reads everything you send. We don't run live chat and we don't promise a reply within a set time, because two people can't keep that promise honestly.
Status, security and prices, in public
You can check these yourself, any time.
Live status
Automatic checks of creator sites, the platform API and new-site setup, with the time of the last check.
Security
Every site has its own database and file storage. The security page explains how we protect your data and how to report a problem.
Published prices
Every plan price and fee is on the pricing page. If your subscription price goes up, we email you at least 60 days before it applies, and the period you have already paid for keeps its price.
