Cookie Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Facet Cloud ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit get-facet.com or use a site hosted on our platform. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which store data locally in your browser rather than sending it to a server. We use both, and describe them together as "cookies" below.

2. Cookies we use

We use necessary and preference cookies, plus optional Google Analytics and optional Meta ad measurement on get-facet.com if you allow them. Advertising storage, Google signals, and advertising personalization are disabled in our Google tag. Neither marketing tag is installed on creator sites.

Strictly necessary

Required for the Service to function. These cannot be switched off without breaking core features such as signing in or completing a purchase.

  • Authentication: When you sign in to your Facet account or member area, we store a session token so you stay logged in. Cleared when you log out.
  • Stripe: During checkout, Stripe sets cookies to process your payment securely and prevent fraud. These are governed by Stripe's cookie policy.
  • Cloudflare: Our CDN and security provider may set cookies (such as __cf_bm) to distinguish humans from bots and protect the Service from abuse.

Preferences

Remember choices you make so the site behaves the way you expect. Optional, but the site is friendlier with them.

  • facet_locale: Stores your chosen display language so we can serve get-facet.com in it on your next visit. Expires after 12 months.
  • facet_currency: Stores your chosen pricing currency. Expires after 12 months.
  • Theme preference: Your light or dark mode choice is stored in localStorage on your device. It is never sent to our servers.

3. Consent

Google Analytics is off until you choose “Analytics only” or “Allow all”. Declining does not affect signup or using Facet. Use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any marketing page to change your choice. We remember the choice in localStorage for up to 180 days. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies to the current page and you may be asked again.

When allowed, Google Analytics uses _ga and _ga_ZLN12R42TV cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. We configure these cookies to expire after 180 days without extending their expiry on each visit. Google receives page and device information and connection data such as your IP address. Our page-location setting excludes query strings and URL fragments. We do not send your account password or payment details. Declining later disables further measurement and clears these analytics cookies in this browser; it does not erase data already sent to Google. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Meta ad measurement is off unless you choose “Allow all”; “Analytics only” keeps it off. When allowed, the Meta Pixel uses _fbp (and _fbc when you arrive from one of our ads) to tell which ads bring people to this site. Meta receives the page address, browser and device information, connection data such as your IP address, and three events: a waitlist sign-up, starting checkout, and starting a trial, each with only the chosen plan and price. We never send Meta your email, name or site name. The pixel does not run on the post-checkout and claim pages, whose addresses carry private links; the trial-start event there reports a fixed page address and no referrer. Meta may use this information as described in its Privacy Policy. Choosing “Analytics only” or “Decline all” later stops the pixel and clears these cookies in this browser; it does not erase data already sent to Meta.

4. Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or clear cookies for a specific site. Guides for the major browsers:

Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or completing a purchase.

5. Changes and contact

We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. For questions about how we use cookies, contact us at [email protected].
