Set who my emails come from
Add the legal sender details every newsletter needs, set your sender name and reply-to, and on Studio or Creator send from your own domain.
Open Settings, then Custom Email, to set your legal sender details, sender name and reply-to address, and your own sending domain.
- Under Legal sender details, fill in Legal or business name and Postal address. Facet prints them in every newsletter footer, and newsletters, welcome emails, automations and sequences aren't sent until both are filled in.
- Under Newsletter Sender, set the Sender Name shown in the From field and the Reply-To Address where replies go.
- On Studio or Creator, enter your domain under Set Up Custom Email Domain and click Set Up Domain. Only the site owner can do this.
- Add every record under DNS Records at your DNS provider, then click Check Verification.
- Wait for the status to show Verified. DNS changes can take from 15 minutes up to 48 hours.
A list's own Sender name and Reply-to on the Lists page override these for that list.
If this didn't work
- Verification keeps failing: check each DNS record against the table character by character, and enter the bare domain (
example.com, notmail.example.com). Some DNS providers add your domain to the end of the name automatically. - Replies don't reach you: the Reply-To Address is empty or a list has its own reply-to set. Leaving it blank means no reply-to.
Without a custom domain, your mail goes out from Facet's own address, which is already authenticated.
