Preview my site before visitors see it
Site Studio keeps a private draft you can preview, and Publish applies that draft to your live site.
Site Studio keeps your design changes as a private draft: Preview changes shows that draft on your real homepage, and Publish applies that draft to your live site.
- Open Homepage to reach Site Studio and make your changes. The bar at the top counts your unpublished changes.
- Choose Preview changes. A private, read-only preview opens. Switch between Desktop, Tablet and Mobile, then press Escape to close it.
- Choose Publish changes to make the draft live. Revert unpublished throws the draft away instead.
- Choose View live to open your public site in a new tab.
Posts, projects, talks and courses publish separately, from their own editor. New items start as drafts: Save draft keeps them private and Publish makes them live. Preview as… under More actions shows an item the way a signed-out visitor, a signed-in member or a paying member sees it. Facets have their own Publish status under Access.
If this didn't work
- My live site still shows the old design: opening your site name or subdomain shows the live site, not the draft. Check that the bar says your workspace matches the public site, then reload.
- Preview changes is greyed out: there are no unpublished changes to preview yet. Your favicon is the exception: it saves as soon as you select Save and is not part of Publish changes.
