Make a Facet private, password-protected or link-only

Choose who can find a Facet, who can open it, and whether they need a password or a private share link.

Each Facet has three separate access controls under Access: where people find it, who can open it, and an optional password or share link on top.

  1. Open the Facet from Facets and find Access.
  2. Where people find it: Listed everywhere, Only with the link (never listed, indexed or in feeds), or Nowhere.
  3. Who can open it: for example Anyone, Anyone signed in or Only you. Subscribers and People who bought it need Studio or Creator.
  4. Extra protection: choose Password and enter the Password visitors must type, or Share link to require a secure share link.
  5. For a share link, select New share link in the Share link panel, add an optional name, Expiry and Max uses, and create it.
  6. Copy the link straight away. For security, the full link is shown only once.

What this means under Access describes, in plain words, what each kind of visitor will see.

If this didn't work

  • I lost a share link: it can't be shown again. Open Manage all → (the Share Tokens page) and choose Regenerate. The old link stops working and a new one is shown once.
  • My Facet doesn't appear on the Share Tokens page: that page lists published Facets set to Only with the link, Anyone and Share link. Check those three settings.

To cut off someone's access, choose Revoke on their link. Share links and passwords work on every plan. A password isn't an account: it doesn't tell you who opened the Facet.
