Create a course

Start a course, build its modules and lessons, choose who can open it, and publish it. Free courses work on every plan.

Open Courses, click New Course, pick how to start, then build the outline and publish when it's ready.

  1. In Courses, click New Course.
  2. Choose Start blank, Paste an outline, Generate an outline or Import from another platform. A pasted or generated outline is only created, as a draft, when you press Create course.
  3. On the Sales page tab, add the title, description and cover image people see before they start.
  4. On the Outline tab, click Add Module, then + Add lesson inside each module. A lesson can hold text, a video or both, and + Quiz adds a quiz lesson.
  5. On the Price tab, choose Who can open it. For a free course pick Anyone or Anyone signed in. Use Preview as to check what each kind of visitor sees.
  6. Click Publish. The arrow beside it (More publish options) lets you choose Public, Unlisted or Private. Until you publish, the course stays a draft only you can see.

Once a course is live, outline edits wait under Publish changes until you publish them, so learners never see a half-finished lesson.

If this didn't work

  • People who bought it says "connect Stripe first" or "on Studio and up": selling a course needs Studio or Creator and a connected Stripe account. A free course needs neither.
  • There's no Outline tab yet: save the course once first. Outline, Learners and Analytics need a saved course.

A course that already has learners can't be deleted, only unlisted, so nobody loses access they already have.
