Moving from Teachable to Facet
Teachable lets the school owner export users as a CSV, but a course can't be exported as one unit. Contacts and student access come over by CSV; the course is rebuilt from a simple list of modules, lessons and video links.
The safe order
- Pick one course to move first and leave the rest on Teachable.
- In Facet, open Settings → Import. Rebuild that course from a manifest, then import its students' access, then your contacts. Every import runs as a dry run first and can be rolled back.
- Check the course the way a student will see it before you tell anyone.
- Let the subscriptions you already have on Teachable run out instead of cancelling them early. Move the next course when you're ready, and cancel Teachable last.
Export your data from Teachable
These steps were checked on October 30, 2026 against Teachable's own help articles, linked below. Menus change, so if a button has moved, follow the article.
- Sign in as the school owner. Only owners can export users.
- In Users, open the tab for the people you want (students, for example) and add filters if you only want some of them.
- Click Export CSV. Teachable emails the file to the owner's address.
Teachable's help centre says it has no way to export a course as one unit. Videos, PDFs and other files download one by one from the curriculum editor, and lesson text has to be copied across.

What moves to Facet and what doesn't
This list comes from what Facet's importers do today. Nothing is read out of a Teachable course file.
Contacts Moves
Name and email from your CSV. Duplicates merge, and anyone already on your Facet list keeps their current status.
Unsubscribes Moves
Teachable's export has an "Unsubscribe from marketing emails" column (TRUE means opted out), and Facet reads it, so people who opted out arrive unsubscribed.
Tags Moves
Teachable's export has a Tags column, which Facet imports with each contact.
Student access Partly
The Users export only gives a course count, so import one course at a time: filter by course, export, then choose the matching Facet course.
Course outline Partly
Modules and lessons come from a simple manifest (a CSV you write), up to 200 modules and lessons per import. The course lands as a draft.
Videos Partly
On Studio and Creator, Facet fetches each video from the link in your manifest. It has to be a link Facet can reach, so download your videos from Teachable first and host them somewhere reachable.
Paid subscriptions Partly
Not a file import. If your students pay through your own Stripe account, connect that account in Facet and adopt the active subscriptions. Past sales history stays behind.
Quizzes, drip schedules, downloads Doesn't move
Not in the manifest. Rebuild them in Facet's course builder.
Passwords, progress and more Doesn't move
Passwords, student progress, comments, certificates, saved cards, page designs, automations and email sequences stay behind.
Imports preserve consent: contacts who unsubscribed on your old platform arrive unsubscribed here and are never re-mailable by accident.
What would Creator or Studio cost you?
Type what you pay your current platform and what you sell in a month. Nothing is sent anywhere and there's no email to hand over.
On these numbers you pay 149.00 US dollars a month today. The same month on Facet would cost 39.00 US dollars on Creator, with no platform fee on 1,000.00 US dollars of sales, or 45.00 US dollars on Studio.
One month, side by side
- What you pay today
- 149.00 US dollars
- Creator 39.00 US dollars plan + 0.00 US dollars platform fee
- 39.00 US dollars
- Studio 15.00 US dollars plan + 30.00 US dollars platform fee
- 45.00 US dollars
- Creator takes no platform fee. Studio takes 3% of your sales, never more than 99.00 US dollars a month.
- Card processing fees are separate. Stripe charges them on any platform, so they are left out of both sides.
- Facet prices checked on October 30, 2026. Monthly billing; annual billing costs less.
