My site looks wrong or my changes aren't showing

Check for unpublished drafts, custom CSS, colour mode and custom scripts, and roll back with a restore point.

Most of the time the live site is showing exactly what was last published: check for an unpublished draft first, then anything you've added on top of the design.

To check what's going on:

  1. Open Homepage to reach Site Studio and read the bar at the top. If it counts unpublished changes, choose Preview changes, then Publish changes.
  2. Reload your public site. Facet refreshes the public copy when you publish, which can take a moment.
  3. In Design, open Advanced: custom CSS. Custom CSS applies after the design system, so remove or fix rules that clash, then preview on desktop, tablet and mobile.
  4. Check Colour mode in Design. Follow visitor preference shows dark mode to visitors who use it, so test your site both ways, or choose Always light or Always dark.
  5. If the problem shows only in a private window, check Head HTML and Body-end HTML in Site Settings. Those snippets run only for signed-out visitors, so a broken one can change the layout for them alone.

If this didn't work

  • I published something by mistake: open Publish & recovery in Site Studio and use Review and restore on a restore point. Only Site Studio settings are restored; your posts, courses, members and files are untouched.
  • A Look change went live straight away: restoring or resetting on the Compare Looks page changes the live site. Use Restore points on that page to go back.

A missing item is usually about selection, not design: check it's published and public, and that its section includes it.
