Set my site's language

Choose the fallback language visitors see when nothing else tells Facet which language they prefer.

Set the Site fallback language in Settings > Site Settings > General. It is a fallback, not a language forced on every visitor.

  1. Open Settings, then Site Settings.
  2. Open General and find Language.
  3. Choose a language under Site fallback language. It saves as soon as you choose it, and Undo puts the old one back.
  4. Optional: Use saved language in this browser switches this browser to the saved language and reloads the page. It doesn't change any member profile.

A visitor's own choice, a saved preference, their browser language or country detection can take precedence over the fallback. It doesn't translate the content you wrote, and it doesn't change your billing currency.

If this didn't work

  • A visitor sees a different language: that's expected when their own choice, saved preference or browser language points elsewhere. The fallback only applies when none of those do.
  • It didn't save: a Retry button appears and your choice is kept, so you can try again.
