Send a newsletter

Write a newsletter, choose who gets it, check the recipient count, then send it or schedule it.

Open Newsletter, click Write newsletter, pick your audience under Who gets this, and send once the count looks right.

  1. Open Newsletter and click Write newsletter.
  2. Optionally pick a starting email under Start from a template.
  3. Write the Subject and the Body (Markdown).
  4. Under Who gets this, choose a list (when you have more than one), All subscribers or Specific tags, and optionally a Segment. A segment only narrows the audience, never widens it.
  5. Read the line "N subscribers will get this email". The send button uses this same number.
  6. Click Send Test to get a copy at your own login email.
  7. Click Send to N subscribers and confirm. On Studio and Creator you can use Schedule for later instead.

Subscriber-table filters do not set the send audience: filtering the table on the Newsletter page doesn't change who receives a message. Only confirmed, active subscribers are counted. Consent, verification, unsubscribe, and suppression rules still apply.

If this didn't work

  • The send button is greyed out with a note about sender details: add your legal name and postal address in Custom Email. Newsletters can't go out without them.
  • The send was refused for a send limit: each plan has a monthly send allowance (Portfolio 5,000, Studio 12,000, Creator 32,000) and a daily limit of a quarter of that. The Monthly sends meter in the composer shows what's left and when it resets.

Sent and scheduled newsletters appear under Campaigns, where you can cancel a scheduled send.
