Keep my old links working after a move

Add redirects from old paths to pages on your Facet site, one at a time or from a CSV.

Add a redirect for each old link so visitors who follow it land on the right page of your Facet site.

  1. Open Settings, then Redirects.
  2. Under Add a redirect, enter the Old path, like /p/my-post. You can paste the full old URL.
  3. Enter the New path, a page on this site like /posts/my-post.
  4. Select Add redirect.
  5. To add many at once, use Upload a CSV with two columns: old path, then new path. The redirect map from an import uploads as it is. Check the preview, then confirm.
  6. Use the open-in-new-tab button next to a redirect to test it.

If this didn't work

  • The old link still shows a page: a redirect only applies when nothing else lives at the old path, so it never hides a live page. Changes can take up to a minute to reach visitors.
  • "That new path is itself redirected" or a similar error: point each redirect straight at the final page. Redirects can't go to other websites, to themselves, or from Facet's own paths like /admin.

A site can have up to 2,000 redirects.
