Upload and manage images and files

The Media Library holds your uploads and linked media, with alt text, tags and a way to find unused files.

The Media Library holds the images, video, audio and documents on your site, whether you upload them there or attach them to a post or project.

  1. Open Content, then Media.
  2. To add a file, use Upload media: choose the File, add an optional Title, and select Upload.
  3. To use a YouTube or Vimeo video without uploading it, use Add external media: paste the URL and select Add.
  4. Open an item to add Alt Text for screen readers and Tags to keep things organised.
  5. In a post or project, pick files from Media for the cover image or attachments.

If this didn't work

  • I can't find a file: use the search box and the Type, Collection and Tag filters. Scope shows files used in your content, unused ones (orphans), or both.
  • I'm running out of storage: set Scope to Orphans only to see files nothing uses, select them and choose Delete selected. Deleting a file that's in use removes it from that content, and Facet warns you first.

Storage used and your plan's limit are shown in Settings > Site Settings under Storage.
