Create a coupon code

Make a percent-off code for your paid courses, posts, projects or bundles, with an optional use limit and expiry.

Open Coupons, create a percent-off code, choose what it applies to, and share the code with buyers.

  1. Open Monetize, then Coupons.
  2. Select Create Coupon.
  3. Type a Code, or select Generate for a random one.
  4. Enter the Discount Value as a percentage.
  5. Under Applies To, choose All content, Courses only, Posts only, Projects only or Bundles only. To narrow it further, tick items under Limit to these items (optional).
  6. Set Max Uses (0 means unlimited) and an Expiration Date if you want one.
  7. Check that Active is ticked, then select Save Coupon.

Buyers enter the code under Have a coupon code? when they unlock your content. You can also start a coupon from Products: open Promote on an item and choose Create a coupon.

If this didn't work

  • The code isn't accepted: check the coupon's status in the list. Expired, Maxed Out or Inactive codes don't work, and a code limited to certain items only works on those.
  • You wanted a fixed amount off: the current form does not create fixed-amount discounts, only percent-off.

When editing a legacy fixed-amount coupon, read the warning before saving: saving converts it to percent-off, and its old number is not automatically a sensible percentage. Coupons here don't apply to membership tiers.
