Use AI on my site, or add my own AI key
Check your monthly AI credits, and add your own Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenAI-compatible key so AI keeps working when credits run out.
AI is included with every plan as monthly credits; on Facet Cloud you can add your own AI provider key in AI Providers so AI keeps working after the credits run out.
- Open Settings, then AI Providers. The top card shows whether Facet AI is on and how many of this month's credits you have used. Credits reset on the 1st.
- Under Your own AI key, select Add your own key.
- Choose the Provider: Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenAI-compatible. For OpenAI-compatible, enter your provider's API address too.
- Paste the API key, pick or type the Model, then select Check and save key. Facet tests the key before saving it.
- Under When to use your key, choose Use my plan credits first, then my key or Always use my key.
- AI use this month shows how many calls used plan credits and how many used your key.
If this didn't work
- "Your provider didn't accept this key": check that the key is copied in full and that your provider account has credit, then try again.
- "The key didn't get an answer from this model": check the model name is exactly what your provider uses.
Your AI provider bills calls made with your key; those calls do not use plan credits. The key is stored encrypted and isn't shown again after you save it. Never share your key with support. Sandbox copies cannot make AI calls, so AI features don't work in a sandbox. This page is separate from connecting an AI agent to set up your site.
